It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the website of the Embassy of Switzerland in Norway. Here you will find information on the many facets of the long-standing friendly relationship between Switzerland and the Kingdom of Norway, on the Embassy's services and activities, and on Switzerland in general. Switzerland has been present in Oslo since 1847, and Norway in Bern since 1906, but the ties between our two countries reach back even further. Our close relationship rests on shared values: democracy, the rule of law and the rules-based international order, human rights, solidarity and the protection of the environment.
As the official representation of Switzerland in Norway, the Embassy covers all aspects of the bilateral relationship: political, economic and financial affairs, questions of international law, science, education and culture. It pursues the same objectives in Iceland, to which Switzerland is likewise accredited from Oslo.
Consular services for Swiss citizens in Norway and Iceland are provided by the Regional Consular Centre in Stockholm, which you are invited to contact directly. Our pages on consular services cover passports and identity cards, civil status, political rights and legalisations, and explain how the Embassy and the Swiss honorary consulates in Norway and Iceland can assist Swiss citizens in need. The section on visa and entry to Switzerland describes the relevant Swiss regulations.
Whether in politics, business, science or culture, we have many stories to tell about the Swiss–Norwegian relationship, and there will be many more to come. During my assignment I will strive to maintain and develop these ties, to deepen our bilateral cooperation and to promote Swiss interests — and I will do so as the first Swiss woman to serve as Ambassador to the Kingdom of Norway and Iceland.
