Defence Attaché
The Swiss Defence Attaché based in Stockholm is accredited as Defence, Military, Naval and Air Attaché in Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Finland and Norway. He represents the Swiss Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport DDPS and the Swiss Armed Forces.
The main focus is fostering bilateral relations and exchanging information on relevant topics. The Defence Attaché Office in Stockholm is also committed to establishing, maintaining and further developing a broad and crisis-resilient network relevant to the security and military areas.
The activities of the Defence Attaché comprise four central areas:
- Representation of the Swiss military and security policy interests in the host states
- Observation of security policy and military developments in dialogue with the countries of accreditation
- Information of the host states on issues relating to Swiss security policy and its armed forces
- Advisor of the head of mission in security policy and military issues
